Statistical analysis in quantitative research refers to using mathematical techniques to interpret numerical data. It helps identify trends, test relationships, and determine significance. By applying standardized formulas and tests, researchers draw clear, reliable conclusions that are based entirely on the data, not assumptions or opinions.

Tests research hypotheses: Statistical tools like t-tests or chi-square tests help researchers determine whether the results support their hypothesis. These tests quantify the strength of the evidence and reduce the chance of reaching conclusions by accident or guesswork.

Measures relationships: Correlation and regression are used to measure how variables relate to each other. These tools quantify connections—like whether more study time leads to better test scores—offering evidence that supports or rejects assumptions.

Summarizes large data: Descriptive statistics such as mean, median, and standard deviation help simplify large datasets. These summaries make it easier to understand patterns, compare groups, or highlight unusual results without overwhelming the audience with raw numbers.

Determines significance: Inferential statistics evaluate whether observed results are due to chance. P-values and confidence intervals help researchers assess whether a finding is statistically meaningful and worth further attention or practical application.

Improves clarity and trust: By using numbers and clear formulas, statistical analysis removes ambiguity. Readers can verify findings using the same data and methods, increasing trust in the results and making the research more persuasive to decision-makers.
